We understand that entrusting a loved one into another’s care takes a considerable leap of faith. Our goal is to educate our clients so they can make well-informed decisions, provide them the best options, and make the transition to a new home as smooth as possible.
Our service is at no cost to you, as we are contracted with hundreds of preferred providers in Oregon. Helping Hands has been placing elderly residents in quality housing facilities for over a decade and we are here to help!
Once you have briefed us on your loved one’s care, needs and desires, we will make appointments to tour several facilities that meet your criteria. This entire process including the transition should go at a pace that is safe and that everyone is comfortable with. However, in emergency cases this process can take as short as a day.
Our mission is to locate a safe, permanent, nurturing home for you or your loved ones, and making the transition as simple as possible. We are committed to providing the elderly and their families excellent customer service that is brought to our clients with compassion.

We will educate you on care facility options, assist with applying for Veteran benefits, assist with private pay, and tour facilities with you. We will also assist you in making decisions regarding cost, activities, location, and special needs.

From the Founder/CEO
Hello, my name Larisa Louka and I am the Founder and CEO of Helping Hands for Seniors, and I’m truly thrilled you’ve stopped by our website today!
My journey began when my family and I immigrated from Romania to the United States, searching for new opportunities. Little did I know that my real purpose would reveal itself in the most heartfelt way dedicating my life to caring for our precious elderly community.
As a teenager, I stepped into my first caregiving role in long-term care facilities, and I fell in love with the work instantly. Those early days sparked a passion that never faded. Years later, I proudly became the owner and operator of my own care facilities right here in Oregon, where I specialized in supporting individuals with the most complex medical and behavioral challenges.
In 2014, I took a bold step and founded Agape Hospice & Palliative Care in Los Angeles, California. Not long after, I brought that same heart-centered vision to Portland, Oregon, launching Agape Hospice NW. Today, I’m honored to lead an incredible team of dedicated professionals—physicians, nurses, social workers, CNAs, and chaplains across both states. Every single one of them has taught me something new, and together we’ve built something truly special.
Hard work runs deep in my veins, but it’s the shared wisdom and unwavering commitment of my team that has given me profound insight into what truly matters: providing exceptional care for seniors and walking hand-in-hand with families during life’s most tender moments.
That’s exactly why I created Helping Hands for Seniors. I wanted to build an organization that stands out, and that doesn’t just provide services, but truly makes a difference by surrounding seniors and their loved ones with genuine support, expertise, and understanding during challenging transitions.
With decades of hands-on experience behind us, my team has become more than caregivers, we’re trusted experts, compassionate advisors, and fierce advocates for the elderly.
At the core of everything we do are three guiding principles that mean the world to me:
